The Alton Climate Action Network was established in 2019 by Energy Alton, the Alton Local Food Initiative and the Alton Society, building on the work of the Alton Climate Alliance. It brings people together to tackle the climate emergency by offering a forum for people from Alton and the surrounding villages, encouraging the development of groups on specific issues, and providing trustworthy information on the climate crisis and what we can all do to reduce our carbon emissions.
Become United is dedicated to supporting marginalised communities in Greater Manchester. They focus on providing educational workshops, community projects, and tailored resources to help individuals overcome barriers and access essential services. Since their inception in June 2022, they have assisted over 1,000 people in improving their skills, mental health, and employment opportunities. Our initiatives aim to enhance digital and financial literacy, boost mental health, and increase job prospects for those in need.
BCCF is a Bedfordshire-based group of people who share a deep concern about the threat of climate change both on us locally and on the peoples and biodiversity of the planet. BCCF believes we have a responsibility to limit and mitigate as far as possible the dangers wrought by climate change.
Bioabundance is the campaigning arm of South Oxfordshire Sustainability, set up in 2011 to oppose the unsustainable South Oxfordshire Local Plan and champion nature recovery across the region. It brings together more than 170 members, including ten parish councils, climate and nature lead councillors from Oxfordshire County and South Oxfordshire District Councils, and experts in ecology, planning, law and business, working alongside groups such as BBOWT, Wild Oxfordshire, CPRE, Earth Trust, Friends of the Earth and the Woodland Trust. Funded in part by citizen donations and parish council grants, Bioabundance welcomes anyone who cares about halting and adapting to climate change and restoring Oxfordshire's natural world.
Cambridge Carbon Footprint involves, informs & inspires a wide range of people in the Cambridge area with practical activities and support to make big, permanent reductions in their carbon footprints. They are based on understanding what helps people change their behaviour so as to move people towards a low carbon society. They have a series, known as Carbon Conversations, which are engaging meetings that focus on values, emotions, lifestyle, identity and basic facts of climate change, leading to many participants halving their carbon emissions.
Carbon Neutral Cambridge is a not-for- profit organisation, supporting the rapid reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions of the wider Cambridge region, ultimately to reach a net zero level, and in such a way as to maximise social equity and health.
