They’re a food retailer with over 2,600 stores of their own and they’re a food wholesaler servicing 1,300 shops owned by independent co-operative societies and a further 4,000 independent retailers including NISA and Costcutter shops. The Co-operative group are also the largest funeral provider in the UK, provide life planning services, and sell insurance products.
