IS YOUR MP A ZERO HERO?

Ten years ago, MPs across the country came together to dream big. But they didn’t stop there and these dreams became an unprecedented reality as they passed the Climate Change Act, a first-of-its kind law that showed the UK was serious in leading the fight against climate change.

We’re celebrating the Acts’ big 1-0 with a special birthday wish: asking our MPs to help us go even further and faster by creating a future where the UK doesn’t just lead on climate change, but no longer contributes to it. This future is well within reach, but first we need a net-zero emissions target before 2050 to be passed into law—a target which would see us only produce the same amount of emissions that we’re able to offset.

Over 180 MPs and Peers have already shown their support for this cleaner, brighter world, but to make it a reality we need even more support in Parliament—and that starts with you showing your MP how much you care about them helping to protect your community, your family, and the life you love from climate change.

Start today by filling in the form below to send a card to your MP and asking them to be a Zero Hero. We’ll add your name, alongside others in your constituency, and personally deliver it to them.

Ten years ago, MPs across parties came together to create the world’s first Climate Change Act. In honour of this, there will be a celebration in parliament in the Atlee Suite on 21st November from 4-6 PM. I hope you can go along to this event to mark this milestone and celebrate the fact that Britain has led the world in the fight against climate change.

As your constituent, I wanted to thank you for being a Zero Hero and for adding your signature to the letter from Simon Clarke MP, asking the Prime Minister to set a target in law of net zero emissions before 2050. This will be crucial if Britain is to remain a global leader and protect the people, places and life affected by climate change.

Ten years ago, MPs came together to pass the world’s first Climate Change Act. We can continue in this proud tradition of leadership by becoming one of the first countries in the world set a target in law of net zero emissions before 2050.

Please add your signature to a cross-party pledge, which has already been signed by over 100 MPs, backing a UK net zero emissions target.  You can find the full text of the pledge here and add your signature by emailing campaigns@theclimatecoalition.org or by contacting the office of Simon Clarke MP.

In honour of the 10th Birthday of the Climate Change Act, there will be celebration in parliament in the Attlee Suite on 21st November from 4-6 pm. We hope that you will attend to mark this milestone and hear about the positive impacts net zero could have in the fight against climate change.
